Milestone Demonstrates Effectiveness of RBM’s Strategic Biomarker Services
Rules-Based Medicine (RBM), a global leader in biomarker testing services, and its subsidiary, Psynova Neurotech, has achieved a significant milestone in a companion diagnostic development program with Roche. Using samples from a Roche clinical trial, the RBM DiscoveryMAP® platform, and Psynova’s biomarker database and expertise, a biomarker pattern was identified that has utility in prognosis of disease progression and/or predicting or monitoring the efficacy for a compound in the Roche CNS pipeline. Roche has exercised its option to continue commercial development based on these results, which could result in additional future milestone and royalty payments to RBM/Psynova. [read

Myriad Genetics Completes Acquisition of Rules-Based Medicine (RBM). Psynova Neurotech Ltd has become a wholly owned subsidiary of RBM, as it has acquired all of its stock.
Myriad Genetics, Inc. (Nasdaq:MYGN) announced that it has completed the previously announced acquisition of Rules-Based Medicine (RBM) for approximately $80 million in cash.

Psynova wins ACES award for Life Sciences
Psynova Neurotech Ltd is delighted to announce that Prof. Sabine Bahn and Prof. Chris Lowe, co-founders of Psynova Neurotech Ltd, have won the prestigious ACES award for Life Sciences. At the ceremony in the ETH Zurich, Sabine Bahn, collected the award. The distinguished jury acknowledged that the social impact of Psynova Neurotech’s work is potentially very high. This is illustrated by its first product VeriPsych which is the first and only blood test to aid psychiatrists in the diagnosis of recent-onset of schizophrenia.
The winners were chosen by a jury of European business and academic leaders, members and guests of the Science Business Innovation Board and AISBL. Innovation Board members include officials of Microsoft, BP, Imperial College London, and the business schools INSEAD in France and ESADE in Spain.
The nominees were selected from 120 nominations, by the ACES Selection Committee in December 2010.
The ACES (Academic Enterprise Awards )are organised by the SciencelBusiness Innovation Board which was created to encourage public dialogue about innovation policy in Europe. The ACES awards recognise the best academic entrepreneurs in the European Union and affiliated countries.
