Getting to Cambridge

  • Train:
    There is a regular service to Cambridge from London. Timetable information is available from National Rail. Buses run from the main train station to the city bus station on Drummer Street every ten minutes and there is a taxi rank outside the station.
  • Bus:
    The central drop-off point for bus services is at the city bus station on Drummer Street. There is a free City Centre Shuttle bus service which operates every 15 minutes from 9am till 5pm (buses marked: City Centre Shuttle). Route: Emmanuel St, Fair St (Grafton Centre), Newmarket Rd, Jesus Lane, Bridge St, St Johns St, King's Parade, Silver St, Pembroke St, Downing St, St Andrews St
  • Car:
    The main routes into Cambridge and locations of University and College buildings are marked on the University map. Very limited parking is available for visitors on University and College sites and in the city as a whole. Please call the office that you are visiting in advance for information about the availability of parking. Use Park & Ride sites instead of bringing your car into the city centre.
  • Air:
    The closest airport offering scheduled flights is Stansted, which is 30 miles from Cambridge. A regular bus service and a direct train service run from Stansted to the city.
